Best season May – September

Tour Overview

Our most complete Ladakh-only itinerary. It covers the classic north — Khardung La, Nubra, Turtuk and Pangong — then keeps going south into the Changthang plateau for Hanle and Tso Moriri, country most ten-day trips never reach.

Ten days is what it takes to see both halves of Ladakh — the well-travelled north around Nubra and Pangong, and the empty Changthang plateau to the south.

The Changthang leg

Days six and seven take you through Chushul and Nyoma to Hanle, then across to Tso Moriri. This is restricted country and needs an inner line permit, which we arrange. There is very little between the villages, so vehicles travel prepared.

Altitude

You sleep above 4,200 m for three consecutive nights on this route. The first two days in Leh are genuine acclimatisation days and should not be skipped.
